Harvey Milk's City Hall Tour begins with an introduction to Harvey's immense presence in San Francisco by becoming the first openly gay politician in the state of California in November 1977. This tour explores the beautiful City Hall, where Harvey served his community and met his untimely death on November 27, 1978.

Milk only served 10 months in office but was responsible for passing a number of gay rights bills. In 1978, Milk and Mayor George Moscone were assassinated by Dan White, another city supervisor who had recently resigned but was denied reinstatement when he requested his job back. In his legal influence and death, Harvey Milk has become a symbol for gay rights.

Some of the highlights of the tour include Harvey's and Mayor George Moscone’s former offices. You'll also visit the memorial bust and breathtaking rotunda where same-sex marriages were once performed.
